Twelve Jyotirlinga  

The Twelve Jyotirlingas are one of the most sacred shrines of Lord Shiva, where he is worshipped as a Jyotirlinga a radiant pillar of divine light. All these temples are spread across all over the India and which are mentioned in the Shiva Purana, Skanda Purana, and other scriptures.

Somnath

Somnath is one of the most important religious and historical place located in Prabhas Patan, near Veraval Gujarat on the bank of the Arabian Sea Cost. The Temple of the Somnath is famous for being destroyed and rebuilt multiple times over the centuries.

Mallikarjuna

Kashi Vishwanath

Vaidyanath Dham (Baidyanath Jyotirlinga)

Vaidyanath Dham is located in Deoghar, Jharkhand. It is famous because lord Shiva appeared as a healer (Vaidya) to cure Ravana, who had offered his heads in penance.

Nageshwar Jyotirlinga 

Another name of Jyotirlinga is Nagnath Temple, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of lord shiva, located about 17 km from dwarka, It represents protection from poison, fear, and evil. 

A demon couple daruka and daruki ruled a forest called darukavana. They captured a shiva devotee named supriya and imprisoned his along with other, Supriya continued chanting Om Namah Shivaya inside the prison. Pleased with his devotion, lord shiva appeared and vanquished the demon. Shiva jyotirlinga to protect devotees- now known as Nageshwar Jyotirlinga.

Ramanthaswamy temple is located in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva and Char dham sites of India with Badrinath, Puri and Dwarka. The temple is closely associated with the Ramayana because

 Lord Rama worshipped here, for the Shiva before going to war with Ravana, After completing the war he performed the Rudra Yagna to absolve himself of the sin of killing a Ravana (Brahmin).
