Bhimashankar
Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga is one of the sacred Jyotirlinga of the Lord Shiva., it is located in the Sahyadri Mountain Range (Western Ghats) in the Pune district of Maharashtra, at an height of about 1100 m above the Sea Level. It is surrounded by the dense forests and misty hills, bhimashankar is both a pilgrimage destination and place of nature.
Here, Jyotirlinga represents the infinite from of Lord Shiva where he manifested as a pillars of divine light, The temple of bhimashankar is closely associated with the Tripurasura (also called Bhima) because Bhima gained immense power through Tapasya and started tormenting (pareshaan) gods and sages. Then to protect the universe, Lord Shiva fought and destroyed the Bhima.
The Architectural design of the Bhimashankar Temple reflect the blend of Nagara style which influences from the Maratha Period. The main sanctum houses the swayambhu Shivalinga, which is worshipped daily by the priests and devotees. Along with Lord Shiva, the Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman is also there.

Bhimashankar is more famous for its surrounding area, the temple lies within the Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is rich in biodiversity. The sanctuary is especially known for the Indian giant squirrel (Shekru), the state animal of Maharashtra. During the monsoon season, the region comes alive with lush greenery, waterfalls, and cool mist, making it attractive to nature lovers and trekkers.

Kondhawal Waterfall is beautiful “Natural Waterfall” located near the Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga and village of Bhimashankar. The Waterfall is known for it lush greenery, serene environment, fresh mountain air and seasonal charm. The pilgrimage and the tourist mainly coming at the time of monsoon mouth (July to September) when the heavy rainfall happen.

The Waterfall lies within the Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary, an area known for its rich biodiversity where the various bird species, insects, plants and animals life and make the Kondhawal Waterfall more attractive.

Ahupe Waterfall
Ahupe Waterfall is a scenic and lesser known waterfall located near Bhimashankar, close to Ahupe village in the western ghats of Maharashtra. It is surrounded by the dense forests and hills known for its raw natural beauty and peaceful environment.

The surrounding area of the Ahupe Waterfall is rich in biodiversity, because it is close to the Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary. The path of the Ahupe waterfall is short, making it popular for the adventure lovers and nature lover. Hanuman Lake
Hanuman Lake is a calm and scenic natural lake located near Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga, lake is known for its peaceful atmosphere, natural beauty and surrounded dense forest which make it pleasant spot for visitors to relax after the darshan of the temple.

Hanuman Lake is especially attractive during the monsoon and post monsoon seasons, when the surrounding area turn to lush green and lake is full with fresh water. The location is ideal for light walking, nature photography and spending quiet moments in nature.
Dimbhe Dam
Dimbhe Dam is a located on the Bhima River in the Ghod Village, close to Bhimashankar. The Dam is build maily for the irrigation purposes and for supplying water to the nearby agriculture regions. It is surrounded by the scenic Sahyadri Mountain Ranges and it is well known for its picturesque views, especially during the monsoon.

Main Attraction of the Dimbhe Dam is a “View Point“, from where the visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the dam and surrounding valleys. The area of the dam became more beautiful during the monsoon, because the nearby water falls and fresh greenery enhance the natural charm.
